John Juanda managed to defeat Phil Hellmuth to take the bracelet. "Tonight there were a lot of great players," said Juanda. "It's tough to post a $10,000 buy-in tournament, especially in a game like no-limit 2-7, so, I didn't expect it to be easy. I actually started today as the shortest stack and obviously had to catch some cards. You know, I just took it one hand at a time."
JUANDA TAKES ON BORD
John Juanda took on James Bord in a highly encountering match. UK poker player James Bord laid into John Juanda after losing his game in the Heads-UP NLHE Championship, accusing him of being a “thieving prick” and threatening “If i see you in the parking lot, i’m going to beat your ass“. The Rio security ended the altercation quickly, but the reason for the outburst is still unclear.
JUANDA MISSING FROM WPT FIVE DIAMONDS
The elimination of John Juanda had a major role to play in the WPT. The championship promises to be very exciting because these stars of the game will attempt to remove Esfandiari from his place.
Pending the outcome of the tournament, "The Magician" can already be commended for this excellent course. Note that renowned players such as Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Johnny Chan and Justin Young were already eliminated.
JUANDA WINS BIG
John Juanda was one of the players who won big in Macau Cash Games. The nosebleed game at Starworld’s Poker King Club, which has been taking place regularly for more than a year, mostly consists of businessmen from China and Macau who have converted their gambling passion from baccarat to poker. With several pros in town for the APT event, the regulars welcomed the chance to play against some of poker’s top superstars like Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, and Chau Giang.
JUANDA ENTERS WSOPE EVENT
John Juanda was among the many stars to enter into the WSOPE event#3. Besides the PLO event, the fourth day of WSOPE also featured the £1,075 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event kick off. 202 players showed up on Day 1A of this event, including Chris Ferguson, John Juanda, Jason Mercier, Antonio Esfandiari and many more familiar faces.
By the end of the day, only 28 players remained, with Jeppe Bisgaard holding the largest stack of 49,000 in chips. These players will now have to wait for Day 1B and 1C to be played out today and tomorrow.
JUANDA HOLD HIS OWN
John Juanda was proving to be one of the tough competitors at WSOP End of Day. One of the most active players on Wednesday was John Juanda, who was scooping just about every pot in his direction through the first seven levels.
He stumbled a touch down the stretch, but still has a very impressive $401,000 in chips, and has to be considered a serious contender upon his return Thursday.
JUANDA READY FOR EUROPE TOUR
The World Series of Poker is set to start in Las Vegas, but the schedule for the WSOP Europe was also just released.
The tournament series will run from Sept. 14-28, with five events that award bracelets. It will be held at Casino at the Empire in London once again.
The main event, with a buy-in of £10,000, will start on Sept. 23.
